1) How big should the staircase opening be?
The opening for the staircase on the floor should be as big or bigger than the size of the staircase. 

2) What does the support pole do?
The support column is necessary to reinforce the staircase, making it self-supporting and eliminating any wall fastenings. 

3) Must it always be used?
Yes, because the staircase requires a form of reinforcement.
It can be a floor based or even a wall based support pole (the latter would require the wall to be made of reinforced concrete, strong enough to support the structure, being careful not to damage any eventual piping).

4) Must I support the staircase in some way while assembling it?
Yes, after having installed the landing step, you must use support poles (wooden or iron poles) every three or four step supports. In this way, the floor is not overloaded. These support poles are temporary and will be removed upon completion.

5) How is the staircase fastened to the floor?
The staircase must always be fastened to the floor (taking care not to damage any eventual tubing) by means of the special elements supplied in the package. If these elements are not long enough, the customer must purchase longer ones. Also the diameter of this floor support measures 8.07" and that is the size of the bottom plate on the floor. The column is 4"

6) How big is the top mounting plate of the UNIVERSAL MAXI?
The top mounting plate measures 12.2 X 4.72 in.

The opening must be at least equal to the diameter of the staircase itself, but if you want a more comfortable grip on the handrail, we suggest that the opening be 2 inches bigger than the diameter of the staircase.

The staircase must always be fastened to the floor (taking care not to damage any eventual tubing) by means of the special elements supplied in the package. If these elements are not long enough, the customer must purchase longer ones.

For staircases with a diameter of 47.24 in., the net width is 19.29 in. 
For staircases with a diameter of 55.11 in., the net width is 23.22 in.
For staircases with a diameter of 59.84 in., the net width is 25.59 in.
For staircases with a diameter of 62.99 in., the net width is 27.16 in.

The bottom floor support measures 8.07 in.

For staircases with a diameter of 55.11 in., the net width is 23.22 in.
For staircases with a diameter of 59.84 in., the net width is 25.59 in.
For staircases with a diameter of 62.99 in., the net width is 27.16 in.
